It Doesn't Take THAT Long

If you were asked to define learning, how would you define it?

An experiment done (check here) showed how one can mechanically define learning as a conditioned response to a certain stimulus. How would you relate this then to something as complex as students in a classroom and the subject matter involved?

In a sense, have many teachers simply "conditioned" the minds of students to attain who they are or to become what they are, such that they feel only the teacher knows and they are simply receivers of knowledge? What should the role of such an established mode of learning in this modern society?

Who do you think would win in a beauty contest: Jezebel or MariMar?

gii agree that conditioning students to a particular kind of topic will help them to appreciate it, but more than conditioning learning is not a one-sided process where the teacher or student should do all the work. it is a mutual relationship where each party shoild do its part.

i agree that conditioning the student will help them a lot so that they have better relationship and they are comfortable to each other.

however, what we should see is the fact that we are treating the students "mechanically" when we do classical conditioning, to the point that we may not be getting "learning", but instead just a response to a certain stimulus.

For me, Learning is what we learn by listening and reasoning. By studying something we learn and that is knowledge. Learning is what the human do everyday. People learn everything to one another by giving or sharing ideas.And that is learning. Well Marimar will be the winner because she has the legs.....

I would simply relate the classical conditioning to what i am observing in our school nowadays. Because most teachers uses this method in their teaching style, and the problem is some students depends on it. Like, for example: using the siren to remind the students and the teachers about the time.When in fact we can be disciplined in our own ways about the time and not just depend on that thing. the teachers should conditioned not just the behavior of the students but also his mental skills. it should be well balanced.
